Does Cherry Smash in any way modify the original Map images or Search results?
Cherry Smash does the same your PC browser does... As the matter of fact, you may consider Cherry Smash to be a specialized type of mobile HTTP Browser for Maps. Cherry Smash pulls the original Maps and doesn't do any additional image processing. Cherry Smash also parses the original XML Search Result Data and displays it in the format acceptable for viewing on a mobile device. No images or data values are being modified, not to mention the fact that it would be against 's Terms of Use. Again, all images and search results are copyright of and their partners.
Will Cherry Smash be ported to other phones?
Yes, very soon. As the matter of fact that work is in progress... (again, my free time permit). One of the reasons I wrote Cherry Smash in Java (J2ME) is portability. Adding support for new phones is easy and will come very soon (my free time permit). However, Treo had to be "the first"...
In the meantime, if you don't have Palm based Phone, check out cocks and tits you may want to check at MGMaps for another take on Maps for mobile phone implementation...
